Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.Basic QualificationsBS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar STEM degree5+ years of professional experience in a relevant fieldEngineering Management or Engineering Team Lead experience including task planning, budget management, and/or employee development and mentoringSolid mathematical capabilities that include linear algebra, dynamics, coordinate frame transformations, and state estimation techniquesExperience with different simulation and test environments (6-DOF IFS, HWIL, flight test experience, etc.)Proficiency in SW development environments like Git using programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, FORTRAN, or AdaExcellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environmentUS Citizenship and an ability to attain Secret Clearance is requiredDesired SkillsPrior experience with Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3)/IAMD modelingAbility to collaborate with multi-functional teamsStrong business acumen, management influence and whole systems thinkingStrong Interpersonal SkillsMS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar STEM degreeExperience using a Linux-based operating systemFamiliarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systemsExperience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL)Prior experience supporting flight test preparation, execution, and evaluationAbility to occasionally travel for up to two weeks at a time to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to support flight tests.
