Role Description This is a contract, hybrid Guidance, Navigation & Controls Engineer role based in the Washington DC–Baltimore Area, with flexibility for some work from home. The engineer will design, implement, and validate guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for APNT-enabled aircraft systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include modeling and simulation of control systems, analyzing sensor and flight data, and tuning control loops to meet performance and safety requirements. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software, performing system-level troubleshooting, and supporting lab and flight tests. The engineer will also document designs, test procedures, and results, and contribute to continuous improvement of navigation and timing solutions.\n
Qualifications

\n
• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering with experience in control systems and embedded hardware integration.
\n
• Proficiency in Process Control and Motion Control, including modeling, simulation, and tuning of guidance and control loops.
\n
• Hands-on experience with Robotics and automation systems, including sensor integration and autonomous motion.
\n
• Demonstrated capability in Troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems and diagnosing control and navigation issues.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
\n
• Experience with aircraft or aerospace guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems and related simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Python) is highly beneficial.
\n
• Familiarity with navigation sensors and APNT concepts, such as inertial navigation, RF-based positioning, or multi-sensor fusion, is an advantage.
\n
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate technical information clearly.
